This is the title sequence for the movie Moonrise Kingdom, reinterpreted to convey the film's perspective through the eyes of children, fully embodying their wild imagination and recklessness. Starting with a mundane canoe in the ocean and ending with a fantastical Moonrise Kingdom, the sequence captures the journey of Sam and Suzy's imagination from the film.

Process

I used Arnold as the primary render engine for the base, and composited the rendered clouds layer generated by the volume builder in C4D using Photoshop. To create a cohesive tone throughout the sequence, I also applied additional lighting effects and a LUT.
